We implemented an add-on to support communication via SOAP between Jade multi-agent platforms. The add-on can be downloaded from:

With this add-on it is possible to embed agent messages into SOAP requests, and thus use WS-* specifications during agent communication.

In BREIN we are using this add-on to pass encrypted agent messages through gateways of administrative boundaries.

A new version is available which adds some simple means of WS-Agent communication:

- Agents can simply call Web Services (this is independent of agent messaging, and it is done synchronously).

- It is possible to send SOAP messages to agents inside a platform. The addressed agent receives the message as a normal agent message.

- Agents can provide Web Services. When such a WS is called, an agent method is executed where the agent can provide the response.
